Barindelli & Trezzi- Italian Fashion Company
A Bellagio tradition since 1944. At the end of the war, American servicemen stationed in Bellagio were among the first admirers of these quintessentially Made‑in‑Italy creations, each handcrafted one by one. Production began with small, distinctive leather cases – an invention of our great‑grandfather Francesco. His inventive genius and entrepreneurial spirit, characteristic of the artisans of his era, enabled the business to expand into other precious materials such as silk. All of this took place in the family atelier, then known as “Robes et Confections for Dame.”

Our roots go back to the early twentieth century, when great‑grandfather Ettore Sola launched a wool‑spinning enterprise in the Biellese valleys. In the 1940s he moved to the Milan area and partnered with the Trezzi family to found Lana Brianzola, an industrial dyeing company renowned for high‑quality yarns and innovative colors. During the same period, Brianzola Wool Spinning entered its golden age and began exporting premium wool yarns.
In 1960 we created and registered the VOGUE brand for high‑quality knitwear, opening a knitwear department producing refined garments for both men and women until 1976.
United by shared values and family ties, our company established its presence in Bellagio with a showroom in a carefully chosen location frequented by discerning clientele. Our clients appreciate the beauty of Italian craftsmanship and meticulous finishes; they seek unique, one‑off pieces rather than a mere brand name. This sentiment is apparent even from the street, beneath the historic arcades, where passersby pause at our windows – drawn by their understated elegance and by the antique counter that enchants international visitors with a hint of the past. It is that seductive charm that makes owning one of our pieces feel truly personal.
Since then, Barindelli & Trezzi has continued to design, produce, and offer to a refined audience the finest artisanal silk and leather goods—an expression of Lake Como’s craft heritage.
Now spanning multiple generations, the house remains at your service. For inquiries about our work, please contact info@barindellietrezzi.net.
Silk
Silk is at the heart of our offering. Together with master artisans, we create singular, bespoke accessories. Our 100% natural‑silk range – defined by Italian restraint and elegance – includes men’s ties and pocket squares, women’s scarves, and complementary accessories for clients who value this tradition. Our Bellagio atelier, steps from the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni and adjacent to the Hotel Florence, attracts an exacting international clientele. Each season we sense the most sophisticated trends and translate them into new collections of ties and scarves, hand‑made by Como artisans who uphold a craft lineage dating to the fourteenth century. All collections are cut and finished in the Lake Como region from 100% pure silk, spanning formal and sartorial motifs through refined regimental, classic geometrics and more imaginative patterns.
Leather
From the first leather cases of the 1950s we evolved into handcrafted women’s handbags and elegant travel pieces. Our family’s experience centers on creating objects built to endure, grounded in ongoing sourcing and material research within the Como district—home to suppliers long celebrated for superior hides and leathers.
Sustainability
We minimise waste by recovering offcuts of silk and leather to craft small accessories – pocket squares, coin purses and key rings – thus extending material life and value.
Umbrellas
The atelier Inspired by English elegance, we make simple, refined umbrellas crafted individually by master umbrella makers. From the steam‑bent wood to traditional resin finishes, every step remains true to the time‑honoured techniques of the umbrella maker. Each piece is unique and preserves a family craft transmitted through generations.
Photography note: the images on this site may not fully convey the tactility and finish of our pieces.
By design, we prioritise the energy and resources of our small family business on product quality and the preciousness of the workmanship rather than on elaborate photography.
